Using too many technologies

As with many things, polyglot programming and polyglot persistence can be overdone. There is a cost to introducing too many disparate technologies within a single organization. Mastering a technology is difficult and you will need staff members who are well-versed in the technologies that you are using. The use of different technologies may create a need for more developer training, which costs the organization money as well as its employees' time.
