I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Challenges when using remote resources
Whatever the reasons are for an organization allowing employees to telecommute, a software architect may be required to work with remote resources. Despite the advantages of using remote resources, there are challenges and risks associated with it. It takes some additional skills to ensure that a project that uses remote resources will be successful.
Using remote resources effectively requires some planning, experience, and a good software development process. If you are not careful, using remote/outsourced resources can cause the project to take longer than expected and/or cause the quality of the software to suffer.
