Updating the build tools

A legacy application may be using older build tools. Similar to other development tools, build tools are constantly evolving. If the legacy application you are working on is using an outdated build tool, there are probably better options available to you (or possibly newer versions of the tools already being used).

Software architects should look to update outdated build tools to improve the build and deployment processes. Good build and deployment tools can help you achieve your goals of practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery.
