I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Serverless/Function as a Service (FaaS)
Serverless architecture was covered in Chapter 8, Architecting Modern Applications, but let's differentiate it from PaaS. You may be thinking to yourself that serverless seems a lot like PaaS. Although there are similarities between PaaS and serverless solutions, serverless is not PaaS.
With PaaS, you need the ability to forecast your demand so that you can provide (and pay for) the capacity to meet your forecast. As a result, you still have to concern yourself with the amount of compute capacity you will need.
Unlike PaaS, with a serverless architecture, you will be charged based on a per-execution model and not for the time that the code is hosted. This is one of the main differences between PaaS ...
