Impromptu meetings

Impromptu meetings can sometimes be more difficult when everybody is not in the same location. With messaging tools, it can be just as easy to have a spontaneous meeting as being co-located, but if people are in different time zones, you are more likely to have to schedule things ahead of time. For example, if people are located many time zones away from each other, one person's work hours may be the middle of the night for someone else. Rather than have a spontaneous meeting, it might have to be scheduled for the next day.
