Work quality

One possible difficulty with outsourced resources is that the quality of work from these employees can vary. This can be true of any resource, but an organization may have less control over outsourced resources because they may not be directly involved in interviewing, hiring, training, and managing the resources.

A software architect should try to mitigate this risk. One way is to ensure that there are established code review and quality assurance processes. This can uncover defects, which can then be corrected, and provide an opportunity to give employees feedback. If a particular resource's work is not up to scratch, you can perhaps request that another resource replace that person.
