Why DevOps?

As a software architect, you want to lead your organization so that it can deploy software faster, more frequently, and with fewer failures. Approaches other than DevOps do not focus on continuous delivery, so providing value to customers takes a longer period of time. An operations department can sometimes seem slow to react. Time can be wasted waiting for environments to be created and for applications to be moved from one environment to another. When these processes are manual, they can be wasteful and impede process rather than enable it.
