In this exercise, you’ll create and pose a biped for a four-legged creature: a dog. For now, you’ll simply create the biped and set its parameters. Because the biped is created standing up, it won’t look much like a dog until you pose it in Exercise 2.3.
1. | Load the file DOG_MESH.MAX from the CD.

2. | Select the entire mesh. Make sure all body parts are selected, and not just the body itself.
Tip You’d probably want to give this armless type of biped a wide stance to accommodate the object. The wide stance is achieved by scaling the pelvis horizontally. |
3. | Create a named selection set called MESH.

4. | Right-click and choose Properties, make the mesh See-Through, and freeze the mesh.
