Exercise 10.1. Working with Motions

In this exercise, you’ll load a sample BIP file onto a biped. Then you’ll create an animation and save it as motion files of your own.

Load a Motion

1.
Create a biped of any size. With the biped selected, go to the Motion panel, and on the Biped rollout click Load File.
2.
Navigate to the \Samples\Motion\BIP\_RedEyeStudio\Swords_Ax folder on the 3ds Max 8 installation DVD, and open the file boswipe.bip. The animation in that BIP file is now loaded on your biped.

Note

You can load a BIP file only when a biped is selected.

3.
Play the animation in any viewport. If the biped disappears from the viewport, zoom ...
