Before using cognitive controllers, you must first set up a Crowd helper, delegates, and two or more behaviors (as you did in Chapter 11, “Basic Crowds”). Although it’s not strictly necessary to set up behaviors and solve the simulation before using cognitive controllers, doing some solving is helpful to ensure that the behaviors are working the way you want them to.
Let’s get started working with the Cognitive Controller Editor. Select the Crowd helper and go to the Modify panel. On the Setup rollout, click Cognitive Controllers. This opens the Cognitive Controller Editor, which works something like the Motion Flow Graph. You set up states, and then establish transitions between them.
