Element 5: Capabilities and processes

When you define the future state, a key element to include is any changes to the current activities being performed in the organization. Any new processes or capabilities, or changes to existing ones, relating to any function being affected by the change should be included as the future state definition and description. For example, new or changed processes and capabilities could be in the areas of delivering new products or services, activities to comply with new regulations, or processes to improve the performance of the organization.
