Purpose
According to the BABOK® V3 Guide, the purpose of analyzing performance measures is "to provide insights into the performance of a solution in relation to the value it brings."
Business analysts need to consider the goals and objectives of the business, as well as existing key performance indicators when working out what the expected business value is that the stakeholders are hoping to achieve. Once the business analyst has a view of the expected value that stakeholders would like to see, it is possible to compare this with the actual performance based on the performance measures used to measure the value of the solution.
