Calendars can be shared with collaborators—or the whole world.
Do you want to create a community-maintained public calendar? With Google Calendar, you
can; after all, more minds can tackle a task faster and better. And even if you’re the only person
maintaining the dates and descriptions, it’s often useful to share specic events with a group of
friends or colleagues.
To implement a publicly viewable and group-maintained calendar, sign in to Google Calendar, click
the Add button to the left, and select “Create a new calendar” from the menu. For this sample, I will
create a calendar for a local book reading group, naming it “Book Readers’ Club Events,” as shown
in Figure 7-12. If you like, check the “Share all information on this calendar with everyone” option—
everyone will now be able to search for your calendar, too, so choose this only for truly public
events—and click the “Create calendar” button.

