Beyond the ofcial Google Calendar widget, there’s an easy way
to feature the latest events of any shared calendar in your blog’s
sidebar or elsewhere.
Google Calendar already ships with a widget that displays a full-color, full-featured calendar on
other web pages . But there’s another way to embed calendar events in more minimalist,
but also more customizable fashion: connect the calendar’s Atom feed to the feed widget.
First, you need to locate your calendar’s XML feed. Make sure your calendar is set to be public, and
that you don’t have any events intended to be private in it. Now locate your calendar’s feed address;
click the down-pointing arrow next to the calendar name and select Calendar Settings from the list,
as shown in Figure 7-18. Click the rst orange XML button (the one under “Calendar Address”) in
that dialog and copy the URL that Google provides for you. It will look something like the following
(split into two lines for easier reading):

If you look at this address in your browser, you will nd it’s actually an Atom feed for others to
