Set-up your mail-to-blogger address

There is more than one way to create a blog post.
Google Docs isn’t the only way to blog outside of Blogger’s native editor (see Chapter
10); you can also blog via email. Just go to your blog’s email options at Blogger→Settings→Email
and enter your own word next to the “Mail-to-Blogger Address” eld. Check the Publish checkbox
and save the settings, as shown in Figure 10-45. Now you can go to Gmail or whatever email client
you use, and write a new mail to your mail-to-blogger address (such as to ocehacks.secretword@
blogger.com) as pictured in Figure 10-46.
Make your secret word for the mail-to-blogger email address something tough to guess, and change it from
time to time. Otherwise, a malicious person could create new posts on your blog without your permission. You
can think of this custom word as a password, but to be most secure, it’s advisable to not reuse a password you
use elsewhere for this; you should pick something unique.
