- BLOG WITH GOOGLE DOCS
HaCK 11:
With the help of Google Docs’ publishing options, you can use the
Docs editor to blog.
A blog helps you to communicate with a group of people at once (see Chapter 10). It’s your very own
newspaper, or, if you prefer, your public diary. Done right, blogs (short for “web logs”) are more of
a two-way conversation than a monologue. People can comment on whatever you write, and if you
integrate the comments into your existing and future posts, the blog becomes a form of dynamic,
collaborative writing. Blogs can also be a great way to get your head around any subject; blog about
something, and you might end up becoming an expert in this eld. However, don’t expect to talk
with a large audience immediately, or to end up as expert in a eld after a week—both parts take
time and dedication, and even the best blogging tool in the world can’t automate this effort.
Blogging tools always come with a built-in editor; that’s how they make web publishing as easy as
possible. But you can also use Google Docs as an alternative blogging editor.
Let’s create a Docs-powered blog. For this example, I’ll create a movie review site.
First, you need to sign up with Google’s Blogger at http://blogger.com to create a blog. You can use
your Google Account login for this service, then choose a display name, and accept the Terms of
Service ...
