However, to hide the messages sent to you by Gmail Drive, you can add a lter . Click
“Create a lter” and enter the word “gmailfs” in the subject input box. Click “Next Step” and check
the “Skip the Inbox” and “Apply the Label. . . ” options. Create a new label named “Gmail Drive” (or
any other name that you prefer). Now save your lter and you’re done, as shown in Figure 5-24.
By storing your text documents, spreadsheets, ZIP les, movies, music, and other les this way, you
can access them from any desktop computer or laptop around the world, as long as it’s got Gmail
Drive installed. And even if you are on a computer that doesn’t allow you to install new programs,
like in an Internet café, you can go back to your Gmail account to nd your les. Your only limitation
with this approach is the storage limitation of Gmail itself. If you want to increase your email storage,
take a look at http://google.com/accounts/ManageStorage to buy additional GB of storage.

Another option for storing les with Gmail is GmailFS, the Gmail Filesystem. This mountable Linux
lesystem requires some system administration and development knowledge to set up, as it’s based
