Export your trafc data, visualize it, and share it in ways that are
not possible within Google Analytics.
Google Spreadsheets (see Chapter 3) accepts Comma-Separated Values data, and Google Analytics
exports such CSV data—which means that you can move your site statistics into Spreadsheets.
First, go to Google Analytics and nd a tting report that you’d like to export. In this hack, I’m picking
Trafc Sources→Referring Sites from the navigation menu. Click the Export button in the top, as
shown in Figure 12-6, and click CSV. (There’s an Excel icon next to the link, as CSV can also be
opened with Microsoft Excel.) Save the CSV le on your disk.
Opening the CSV le with a plain text editor, you will see a portion similar to the following:
