interference with your normal writing, these shortcuts work only when your cursor is outside of
a new email composition box, the search box, or any other input area. However, you can leave an
input eld at any time by hitting the Escape key.
For a complete list of Gmail shortcuts, see http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6594. If
you’ve enabled shortcuts in your settings, you can also press the ? key anytime to open a cheat sheet of
available shortcuts, and you can close that sheet with the Escape key.
And in case you’re not satised with all the existing shortcuts, you can also add your own via the
unofcial Gmail Macros Greasemonkey script offered by Google’s Mihai Parparita. The script can be
found at http://blog.persistent.info/2007/11/macros-for-new-version-of-gmail.html. Note as the
Macros hack relies on Greasemonkey , it works only in Firefox.
