A CSE can be restricted to search through a specic site (that is, a domain or subdomain), but you can’t
restrict it to search specic pages or folders only. If your Google Page Creator site collects several unrelated
pages, it might make sense to add a new site via the “Create a new site” link on the Page Creator dashboard.
This way, you can pick a separate subdomain.

Now it’s time to add a search box to your site. Switch over to Google Page Creator at http://pages.
google.com and click on your page to launch the editor. Select an element of your page where you
want to add the search box. I’m using a righthand navigation bar element. Click “edit html” below,

Setting up the Custom Search Engine

If your site is indexed in Google, you can go about setting up a Custom Search Engine for it. Point
your browser to http://google.com/cse/ and click the Create a Custom Search Engine button. You
will now be asked to provide details like the name for your search engine or its description. Provide
the elds as requested, but do not enter any value in the “Search engine keywords” eld.
