Interconnect the Google ofce by subscribing to different info
feeds Google offers.
There is a staggering number of RSS and Atom feeds available all over the Web (see the introduction
to this chapter). Not surprisingly, Google’s own properties have plenty of feeds as well. Hooking up
Google Reader to other services of Google helps you keep up to date.

Go to http://blogsearch.google.com and search for any keyword. At the left side of the search
results—which you can sort by relevance (the default) or date—you will nd a link named Atom,
which you can add to Google Reader. On most browsers, this link can also be accessed by clicking
the orange feed icon located nearby or within your browser address bar.

Go to http://news.google.com and search for any keyword. For instance, you might want to
subscribe to alerts for the name of yourself, or your company, or your web site. You can also
subscribe to a specic domain which is indexed in Google News, such as “site:cnn.com” (no
quotes)—useful if the site itself doesn’t offer an RSS feed already. To the left of the Google News
results, you will always nd the link “RSS,” which you can subscribe to with Google Reader.

