But what if you’d rather have both context menus—sometimes one, sometimes the other,
depending on the specic circumstances and your task at hand? Take a look at Figure 11-34, which
shows what happens when you congure Firefox to disallow web sites to hide the Firefox context
menu, and then right-click Google Maps. If you look closely, you will notice that the Maps context
menu is still there, albeit almost completely hidden. So how can you force the browser context menu
to show but still sometimes hide it to see what’s behind? The answer: press Escape after right-
clicking the page. This will make the browser context menu disappear, but still leave the web app’s
context menu open.

If you maintain a public events list using Google Calendar, you
can create a version of the calendar’s XML feed that will plot your
events on a Google Map or in Google Earth.
One way of getting a series of events displayed on a Google Map is to create a Google My Map
containing a separate marker for each event. This hack shows you the other way: pulling
the events into the map from Google Calendar.
Using a Google Calendar to declare the events that you want to map has the advantage that you can
view events by date, using a Google Calendar view, embedded as a calendar or list ...
