At the time of this writing, Gmail uses labels instead of the more traditional mail folders. A label
is similar to a folder, in that it allows you to organize your messages. And unlike with traditional
folders, you can also associate several labels with a message at once in Gmail. However, you
cannot create nested hierarchies of labels at this time. That’s where more traditional folders can
be of help, and the Folders4Gmail script provides them.
After adding the script, you can now create a hierarchy of labels. Let’s say you want to have a
folder “Job” that includes the subfolders “Boss,”“Important,” and “Jokes.” Open Gmail and switch
to Settings→Labels, and create a new label “Job.” Now add another label named “Job\Boss.” The
