As you can see in the top tabs, this calendar app is part of the Yahoo! suite, which also gives you a
mail and contacts service (and as usual, there are ad banners showing). I’ve switched to the weekly
view, and added an event for Sunday reading “Play Pool.” The other date information shown, like
weather and holidays, was added by Yahoo.
Here are some of the features of the Yahoo! calendar:
You can share a calendar with friends (or make it fully public for everyone to see).
You can set your time zone, preferred daily view, rst day of the week, your daily working hours,
and more in the options.
You can set up email alerts for your events, or opt to have a daily calendar view be sent to you; you
can also receive reminders in Yahoo! Messenger or on your mobile phone.
A program called Yahoo! Autosync synchronizes your calendar with Outlook, Outlook Express, or
Palm Desktop.
Yahoo’s calendar also integrates a to-do list, accessible through the Tasks tab, shown in Figure 7-28.
And just for fun, you can also show a monthly photo to the left by picking from different themes like
animals or abstract.
