However, instead of adding this to Google Earth, you can also just add it to Google Maps. Go to
http://maps.google.com and paste the KML le URL into the search box and hit Search Maps. Google
will recognize that you’ve entered the web address of a KML le and automatically display your photos
on the map now. Click “Link to this page” and a new dialog opens. Here you can either select the URL
to point others to, or copy an HTML snippet for inclusion on your web site, such as your blog.
Google Maps also supports KMZ les for display as a layer. KMZ is a zipped KML le. To nd KMZ or KML les
that others have published, you can search Google for “
letype:kmz | letype:kml” (no quotes, and the |
character is the vertical line or “pipe” character), and copy the URL shown below the snippet into Google Maps
as before (note the URL must be preceded with “http://” when you paste it into Google Maps).
