Content-sensitive security can be used to implement a Virtual Private Database, or VPD. With a VPD, many different users can essentially see their own views of one or more tables in the database. This is the type of security that used to be performed by the creation and maintenance of views, as mentioned earlier, but without the overhead of creating views and having different users, or groups of users, access different database views.
