[TO {DAY | HOUR | MINUTE | SECOND [(frac_precision)]}]Translates literal integers representing days, hours, minutes, and seconds into an interval of time. This function may have one or two units of time. If two units are specified, the first unit must be greater than the second, as in INTERVAL ... DAY TO SECOND or INTERVAL ... HOUR TO MINUTE. New with Oracle9i.
You can use the INTERVAL functions to perform date arithmetic, as shown in the following “Examples” section. For more information about INTERVAL datatypes and all of the Oracle datatypes, see Appendix A.
