RESET DATABASE

Synopsis

RESET DATABASE [TO INCARNATION incarnation_key];

Creates a new incarnation of the target database, or resets the target database to a previous incarnation within the recovery catalog. This command is needed only when the target database has been opened with the RESET_LOGS option of the SQL ALTER DATABASE statement. If you use the RMAN ALTER DATABASE statement to reset logs, the target database is automatically reset within the catalog.

INCARNATION incarnation_key

Specifies that an older incarnation of the database should be the current incarnation.
