It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Partitioning
The following views provide information about partitioned tables and indexes:
- *_IND_PARTITIONS
Lists all index partitions. One row exists for each index partition.
- *_PART_COL_STATISTICS
Contains distribution information about partitioned columns that have been analyzed—for example, *_TAB_COL_STATISTICS for partitioned tables.
- *_PART_HISTOGRAMS
Contains information about histograms created on individual partitions.
- *_PART_INDEXES
Lists all partitioned indexes. One row exists for each index partition.
- *_PART_KEY_COLUMNS
Lists the partition key columns for all partitions.
- *_PART_TABLES
Lists all partitioned tables. One row exists for each partitioned table.
- *_TAB_PARTITIONS
Lists all table partitions. One row exists for each table partition.
