Views

There are four basic ways you can view information in the Navigator pane:

Standard view

This view is a hierarchical view, which is called Databases in the Navigator near the top of the pane. With this view, subobjects can be shown or hidden by clicking on the icon to the left of the parent object.

Group view

This view, which is below the Databases hierarchical view in the Navigator, gives you the ability to organize collections of objects into groups and navigate through these groups. You can use groups to reduce the complexity of your environment or increase your productivity. For instance, you can run a job against a group, which will cause the job to run against all members of a group. You can also use groups to aggregate the display of status for all the members of a group. You can add objects to a group by dragging and dropping them from the Navigator into the Group detail pane.

Job view

This view is the interface to the job system, which is used for running and monitoring maintenance jobs. The detail pane for the Job view is a tabbed page with a list of active jobs and a history page showing completed jobs and their status. You can check a log that provides details about the progress of a job from either page.

Event view

This view shows the events that have been registered for monitoring by Enterprise Manager. The detail pane for the Event view contains a tabbed page that can show alerts that have occurred and have not been cleared, a list of events that have been registered, ...
