Name

LOG_ARCHIVE_TRACE

Synopsis

Value: 0-255

Default: 0

Dynamic: ALTER SYSTEM (changes with next archiving operation)

Specifies the level of output generated by background archiver processes into the alert file. The values for the parameter are:

0

Disable ARCHIVELOG tracing; log only errors.

1

Track archival of redo log file.

2

Track archival status of each ARCHIVELOG destination.

4

Track archival operational phase.

8

Track ARCHIVELOG destination activity.

16

Track detailed ARCHIVELOG destination activity.

32

Track ARCHIVELOG destination parameter modifications.

64

Track ARCn process state activity.

128

Track FAL (fetch archive log) server-related activities.

These tracing levels may be combined by adding together the values corresponding to the desired levels. For example, if you wanted to trace the archiving of the redo log file (1) and the archive status of each ARCHIVELOG destination (2), you would specify a value of 3. New with Oracle9i.
