Identifiers are names for PL/SQL objects, including constants, scalar variables, composite variables (records or collections), exceptions, procedures, functions, packages, types, cursors, reserved words, and labels. Identifiers have the following characteristics:
Can be up to 30 characters in length
Cannot include whitespace (space, tab, carriage return, newline)
Must start with a letter
Can include a dollar sign ($), an underscore ( _ ), or a pound sign (#)
Are not case-sensitive
If you enclose an identifier within double quotes, then all but the first of these rules are ignored.
