Most literals used in PL/SQL are composed of number (e.g. 29 or 6.001), string (e.g., “Rick” or “This is a fine book”) or Boolean (e.g., TRUE or FALSE) values. They may also be NULL. Literals are not represented by identifiers. There are no complex datatype literals as they are internal representations. Unlike the rest of PL/SQL, literals are case-sensitive. To embed single quotes within a string literal, place two single quotes next to each other.
