Label Security and Policy Manager

Label security was introduced in Oracle9i. Label security is an extension of the VPD, except that the program units to support the VPD are already written and act on the value in a single column, which contains the label. Because of this, label security requires no programming to implement. Label security is an add-on product for Oracle9i Enterprise Edition.

Policy Manager, a GUI management tool that is a part of Enterprise Manager, was also introduced with Oracle9i. With Policy Manager, you can implement label security.
