CentOS - Adding the ELRepo repository by file

As suggested in the previous section, all that the package installation did was add appropriate GPG keys and the YUM configuration files for additional repositories; there's nothing stopping you from doing the same thing manually.

ELRepo is a popular repo, mostly due to the fact that it offers more up-to-date versions of the Linux kernel, for those people who like the layout and style of CentOS but who really want the latest drivers and features that the kernel can offer.

First, we need to import the repository's public key, like so:

$ sudo rpm --import https://www.elrepo.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-elrepo.org
