Stopping our container

Once we'd jumped out again, we then stopped our running container:

$ sudo docker stop ecstatic_lalande

This takes a few seconds, but, once completed, the container will vanish (as we saw), though the image it used (alpine) will remain.

Because our image is still kicking around, the next time you want to use it for something, you won't have to download it!
