Proxmox Virtual Environment

Another dedicated hypervisor install, Proxmox (VE), is a Linux-based (Debian, specifically) operating system that, again, has a wide range of hardware support and a friendly GUI to get you started.

This open source solution is ideal for a home-lab environment, and scales up to large installations well, meaning that you can deploy the same solution for your developers and your production rollout. 

In terms of pros, you might think about the following:

• The fact it's open source, which again, may influence your decision
• The fact it's free (as in beer), with the option of paid support and training
• The knowledge that it's based on known and well-supported technologies, such as KVM and QEMU
