There's more...

One thing to be aware of is the space that the journal log will use. The size limitations are governed by options in journald.conf.

The options SystemMaxUse and RuntimeMaxUse govern the maximum disk space the journal can use; these default to 10% of the size of the filesystem, with a cap of 4 GB.

The SystemKeepFree and RuntimeKeepFree options govern how much disk space journald leaves free for other uses; these default to 15% of the size of the filesystem, and are also capped to 4 GB.

There are various scenarios governing size but, basically, journald will try its hardest not to be the reason your filesystem fills up, and it's that sort of attention to detail that makes me love it.
