Getting ready

In this section, we're going to use our Debian box... just for a change.

Connect to debian1, like so:

$ vagrant ssh debian1 -- -L 127.0.0.1:15672:127.0.0.1:15672

Note the forwarded ports for accessing the management interface later.

A word of warning: RabbitMQ starts on all interfaces by default in this setup, so you should ensure that you have a firewall keeping those ports inaccessible from the outside. If you're just working on the Vagrant test VM for this, then it should only be set up for a local network anyway.

Install rabbitmq-server from the default repositories:

$ sudo apt install rabbitmq-server -y
