AppArmor and modification

In this section, we're going to use AppArmor on Ubuntu and determine what effect it has on our system.

AppArmor is installed by default on Ubuntu. It was originally developed by SUSE, but Canonical seem to have stuck their flag firmly in the AppArmor planet, introducing it in Ubuntu 7.04 and turning it on by default in 7.10 (2007).

Like SELinux, AppArmor is a way of introducing mandatory access controls (MAC) into Linux; it has been included in the kernel since 2.6.36.
