How it works...
This isn't an attempt to dissuade you from choosing any particular method of installing your software, and there's plenty of reasons for choosing one method over the other.
I've worked in environments where I had to primarily use a VM, and not wanting the headache of using a VM inside a VM, I've tested software by using containers instead.
Likewise, as mentioned previously, I've screwed up host installations by making hardware configuration changes inside a Docker container, resulting in a host system that would never boot again.
Speaking from experience, you'll quickly get tired of managing different methods of installation, and having used systems where some things were installed from default repositories, some from Snaps, ...
