Getting ready

In this section, we are going to again use our CentOS VM from our Vagrantfile, as everything we're doing is universally applicable.

SSH to your CentOS VM:

$ vagrant ssh centos7

Move into the /home directory (up one level) and create a file, a directory, and a file in that directory:

$ cd /home$ sudo touch permissionfile$ sudo mkdir permissiondir$ sudo touch permissiondir/permissionfile-in-permissiondir

We're also going to create another dummy user that we can use to explain what we're doing in this section:

$ sudo adduser packt -s /bin/bash -p '$1$2QzaOp2Q$Ke2yWZ1N2h4rk8r8P95Sv/'

Note the password we've set here is 'correcthorsebatterystaple'.
