In the old world, systemctl won't work:
$ systemctl-bash: systemctl: command not found
What's also slightly annoying is that there's no upstart command.
Instead, Upstart is skinned to look like a typical init system. The main page even lists it as such:
Instead of systemctl, we use service --status-all:
$ service --status-all
This gives you output similar to the following:
smartd is stoppedopenssh-daemon (pid 1526) is running...tuned (pid 1705) is running...
