Before we start, you may have noticed that we constantly worked with a package called docker-ce, and this is for a very good reason.
There are two base versions of Docker, Community Edition (CE) and Enterprise Edition (EE). Mostly, you will only ever see CE in the wild, and it's perfectly functional for all of your needs.
All we did here was go to the writers of the software directly and add their own GPG key and repository information, alongside our Ubuntu defaults. Docker is a very dynamic program, meaning it has frequent and sizable releases. At the time of writing, we installed 18.06.1-ce, but that might change before you know it. Docker works on a YEAR-MONTH release format:
