atop (Advanced System and Process Monitoring)
To begin, run atop normally:
$ atop
You should see something like this:

This gives us some good information, specifically the system and process activity since boot, before it rotates onto a rolling display of the activity over the previous 10 seconds. In other words, 10 seconds later, it looks like this:

Furthermore, atop can be used to store data not just of the current boot, but also periodically.
Enable the atop service as follows:
$ sudo systemctl enable atop --now
