I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
SELinux and modification
Like AppArmor, Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) is a way to introduce mandatory access controls into Linux, only it has a couple of key differences:
- It's more widely used and loathed than AppArmor
- It's primarily used on Red Hat-based distributions
If you're in the enterprise world, or thinking of going there, SELinux is a great tool to add to your tool belt.
You might recall that we've already touched on SELinux previously, making a couple of small changes to allow things like SSH to run on different ports; here, we're exploring it further.
