Photoconductive polymers are polymer materials that can absorb electromagnetic radiation such as visible light, ultraviolet light, infrared light, or gamma radiation and become more electrically conductive. Their electrical conductivity can be controlled by the amount of radiation. The first usable photoconductive polymer discovered was poly(N-vinylcarbazole).
