Polymer memory refers to a new memory technology that uses conductive polymers instead of silicon-based constructions to store information.

Rather than encoding 0 and 1 as the amount of charge stored in a cell in silicon devices, organic memory stores data in an entirely different form, for instance, based on the high- and low-conductivity response to an applied voltage.

Some features of polymer memory are as follows:

• Zero transistors for each bit of storage.
• The memory is nonvolatile.
• Microsecond first reads. Its writing speed is faster than NAND and NOR flash.
