Knotted polymers (single-chain cyclized) are a new class of polymer architecture with a general structure consisting of multiple intramolecular cyclization units within a single polymer chain.
Applications:
Multiple cyclized rings afford knotted polymers some unique physical properties such as high density, low intrinsic viscosity, high glass transition temperatures, and excellent elasticity of the formed network. These properties make them potential polymer materials for cargo carriers and also attract lots of research attention in terms of drug and gene deliveries.
