So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
208 Solid-Phase Synthesis
Solid-phase synthesis is a method in which molecules are covalently bound on a solid support material and synthesized step-by-step in a single-reaction vessel utilizing selective protecting group chemistry.
Applications:
Solid-phase synthesis is widely used for the synthesis of biological molecules such as peptides, nucleic acids, and oligosaccharides.
This method is also used for the preparation of combinatorial libraries of small molecules for lead drug discovery.
Compared to traditional synthesis, solid-phase synthesis has the following advantages:

- Easy purification

- No isolation needs of synthetic intermediates
